1. Purpose and Scope
The Gospel Training Trust (GTT) complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 when dealing with personal information and the principles laid out by the Privacy Commission. In this privacy policy “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual.
This privacy policy sets out policies and procedures for the collection, use, retention, and disclosure of Personal Information at the Gospel Training Trust.
2. What information do we collect?
Generally, GTT will collect Personal Information from you directly by email, phone, during course/ events registration or in person. The Personal Information we will collect from you may include, but is not limited to:
(a) Name;
(b) Residential address, including phone number and email address;
(c) Enrolment information to camps and events which contains Personal Information including medical and dietary information;
(d) Information for the purposes of employment relations;
(e) Information for the purposes of police vetting;
(f) Financial payments and giving records;
(g) Any other information which assists us in conducting our ministries.
We may collect information from authorised third parties, for instance the police or ministry of justice but we will always gain your consent for this.
3. Use of Information
The GTT will always keep your Personal Information in accordance with this privacy policy and the Act. To the extent that you request to be on our newsletter mailing list, you agree that GTT may send you unsolicited electronic messages. There will always be an unsubscribe request on subscribed mailing list communications.
4. Sharing Information
The GTT will not sell, rent, or lease your Personal Information to third parties. There are, however, limited situations where your Personal Information may be disclosed to certain third parties (e.g. law enforcement agency) under another Act.
5. Protecting Information, Storage and Security
The GTT will take all reasonable steps to keep your Personal Information safe from loss, unauthorised access, or other misuse.
All Personal Information is stored physically (in secured premises) or electronically in data storage (requiring logins and passwords). Only GTT staff and volunteers are permitted to access the Personal Information and there is restricted access to ensure the privacy of your Personal Information is maintained. Access to personal information is reviewed on an annual basis to keep up to date.
In the event of a privacy breach, GTT will follow our obligations under the Privacy Act.
6. Third Party Websites
Our websites may contain hyperlinks to third party websites. GTT is not responsible for the content of such websites, or the way those websites collect, store, use or distribute any Personal Information.
7. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information
You have the right to access your Personal Information that GTT holds, subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, and to request that your Personal Information be updated or corrected.
8. Policy Changes and Review
This privacy policy may be updated at any time and will be reviewed every two years.
